Katrina is getting really interesting when it comes to speech as her vocabulary improves. She speaks in short sentences and makes her wishes very clear. She also fixates on certain words out of the blue.

We were going to the doctor on Monday for Daniel and Adam told Katrina a story. She kept asking for more stories, so we had our first experience of making up stories for her. It was sweet. In one story, we talked about the princess getting married. Katrina started saying, "Nina married." We explained that grown-ups are married like Mom and Dad. She started listing off, "Nina married, Mommy married, Daddy married, Daniel married..." She also likes to tell us "Nina Princess!" We haven't watched many princess movies but she thinks they're pretty cool. She likes to dress up in her tutu, carry around a "wand" I made her with ribbon and a spatula, and dance. When we have music on she often goes and gets a dress or tut to put on so that she can dance properly.

Two days ago she watched Aladdin. Apparently the only thing she got out of it was that Jasmine is 16. She told me she was 16. I corrected her, asked her how old she though Mommy was ("Four!"), and together we counted to 24, my age. (She can only count to 10 by herself, but likes to mimic us past 10). Then I asked her how old Daddy is and she said, "23!" (He's 26, BTW).

She likes to pick random words and sing them to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Tonight I was trying to get some snot from her nose and afterwards she starting singing, "Snot snot snot snot snot snot snot! Snot snot snot snot snot snot snot..." to that tune. She also like to sing Jingle Bells. "Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, the way!" Oh, and this is how she sings Twinkle Twinkle when she's doing a solo: "Pinkle, Pinkle, Ittle Dar! Humma humma, humma--ARE!"

She's a fun girl. When I put her in her pajamas just now with green frogs on them, she hopped down the hall saying, "bid-dit, bid-dit."

Oh, she likes to hug things I give her when she's really happy about it. For awhile she decided she hated her purple jacket and refused to wear it. Well, for some reason the other day she really wanted to go outside, and when I got out the jacket, she said, "Oh, jacket" and hugged it to her chest happily. I showed her a new purse I made today and she hugged it her chest and said, "Oh thanks, Mommy!"

Every night we give her a kiss goodnight. She insists we kiss the correct cheek (which changes, and sometimes you have to kiss both). If we get Daniel in the middle of the night, she will wake up and say, "Diss! Diss!" until we come and kiss her.

Oh, one more. Yesterday Katrina took all the back cushions off of the couch and threw them on the floor. She then started thrashing around on them while throwing her arms around and saying, "Swimming! Swimming!" She's only been swimming once in the last year, so we weren't sure where that came from, but it was hilarious.
